It’s a gorgeous evening and even though I’m on the computer – at least I’m doing it from outdoors!
The fair is coming fast!!
Our next outreach meeting is going to focus on the fair and we hope you can come!
It will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at 6 pm at 2371 Hawthorne Ct. Bring a dish for dinner if you can! (I firmly believe that creativity starts with a full stomach!) Come anyway if you can’t. BONUS: If it is nice we will meet outside!
The good news is we have two volunteer chairs to help us make this event go smoothly. But, we need YOUR help too! Especially, we will need the help of those who want to help Robert construct and paint our fair booth.
- Robert Leach has a great “barn” design that may win us the “best booth for fair theme” again this year.
- Morgan Macchione will chair the committee to man the booth and with the goal of getting as much mileage out of it – to sell as many fundraising items and get the most new memberships possible.
Evan Daigneault is setting up fair volunteers with the following daily shifts:
- Noon to 4
- 4 to 7
- 7 to 10
Call 457-1023 to set up your shift.
Volunteering at the fair has its rewards. You WILL get a ticket for the day you volunteer. Of course, for those who have season passes we appreciate it if you use them.
To make things run as smooth and productively as possible at the fair we will also hold a short, sweet and probably even FUN (45 minute) mandatory training for volunteers on August 3 at 2371 Hawthorne Ct. And YES, even training has its rewards! There will be an AFTER training COOK OUT as well. It will be simple, Alaska grown but potentially a little gourmet and awesome. And for this event you won’t need to bring a thing. (For those who can’t make it on August 3 another training date will be set.)
Thank you in advance and have a great weekend!
