So far we have four committees dedicated to work on different aspects of forming the Fairbanks Community Cooperative Market. You can help get things going by volunteering to participate on one of these committees–and we can certainly use your help! Come to the meeting tonight at Mary Siah Rec Center (5:30 pm in the Art Room, downtstairs)!
Communication/Outreach Committee deals with fundraising, annual meeting planning and member relations, etc. (current members are Cora Kelley, Helen McLean, Jackie Sunnyboy, and Nicole Pearce). This committee, even though it is the biggest, is where we especially need help, as we are planning for our upcoming annual meeting in the spring.
Local Producers Committee reaches out to possible suppliers and writes up agreements (Hans Geier)
Store Design Committee is working on the layout and design of the future storefront (Rob Leach, Garrison Collette, Gary Currington, Jeremiaih Miller)
Business Plan Committee refines the business and marketing plan for the co-op (Dave Lacey)
I would love to help out! I know the old foodland area of town very well and have ideas about the set up of the store.
Hi, I was the one who supplied coffee at the fund raiser last winter. I would be glad to help out . I own Forget-Me-Not Espresso located next door to the foodland for the last 10 years and do think this is a great plan.
Thanks, Amie! You can e-mail us at fccm2010@gmail or fwxsca@yahoo.com, or, if you can make it, come to a board meeting. There’s plenty of opportunities to volunteer.
