FCCM Minutes for June 11, 2009
Present were Mary Christensen, Rob Leach, Hans Geier, and Lela Ryterski.

The June 4th minutes were read and accepted.

COMMUNICATION/OUTREACH: Mary reported on the June 9th meeting. The frequency of the newsletters will be increasing as we get closer to our Annual
Meeting and fundraising activities.

We proposed a budget of $10,000 for advertising until the dessert auction in November. Expenditures included are thank-you gifts, a $25 gift certificate for people who pay the full proposed $200 membership up front; T-shirts to the first 40 people who give a $200 investment (with the stipulation that they wear them to the 1st Annual Meeting.) Sharon will look into T-shirt design. Paper invitations to the Annual Meeting, printing costs of fliers and brochures. Fees at events, radio and TV ads.

Tom will set up a table at the Folk Fest this Saturday. Others will assist.

Sue Sprinkle is working on an ad to be used for newspapers and fliers. Lela will look into artwork for a calendar.

Rob mentioned putting a link on our website to Farmers Market and buying clubs in the co-op spirit.

NEXT COMMUNICATIONS MEETING will be Tuesday, June 16th at 6:30 at Mary’s house.

PRODUCT SELECTION: Lela met with Shawn and discussed criteria: meats humanely raised and no nitrates, fish not farmed and not on the endangered list. Hans
suggested farmed oysters. No tobacco. Bulk foods; organic pet food, ethnic food. First priority to local produce, then organic, then other. Have write-ups about the local producers with their own section in the store. Health and beauty aids department.

FINANCE: Hans researched banks for loans. The North Country Cooperative Development Fund seemed to be a good option. Also mentioned was to ask Mayor Whitaker for help.

OLD BUSINESS: The Delta Farm Bus Tour is either on the 11th or 18th of July. When we find out, we will schedule the Volunteer Pot Luck for the alternate Sunday.

NEXT BOARD MEETING will be in two weeks, Thursday, June 25th at 6:00 at the old
Foodland building.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
