SEEKING GENERAL MANAGER
Co-op Market Grocery & Deli, Alaska’s first community-owned retail grocery cooperative in Fairbanks, Alaska, is seeking an experienced, hands-on, dynamic leader of people to be our next general manager.
Opened in 2013, Co-op Market has more than 4,700 owners, with annual sales of more than $4.3 million. The store employs approximately 30 people, and the general manager reports to a seven-person board of directors that operates under policy governance. The board of directors is elected by the co-op’s members. As a dynamic leader, the general manager is expected to become fluent in the management duties for each department within the store. Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role required, with emphasis on strong communications and interpersonal skills.

- Business Planning and Financial Management Skills (preferred)
- Retail Grocery Experience (preferred)

Co-op Market offers a competitive salary and benefits. The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000 depending on experience. Training may be provided in financial management, business planning and retail grocery operations for those without previous experience.
