We prefer to offer only organic and/or local produce to our shoppers, but we haven’t been able to get good organic onions for some time because of mold issues at the distributor. This week, we’re bringing in conventionally grown onions so that you don’t have to go elsewhere to buy onions. We hope to have good quality organic onions again in a couple of weeks.
It’s worth noting that onions are on the Environmental Working Group’s “Clean 15” list of conventionally grown produce considered safe to consume because they have little to no pesticide residue. And it’s always a good idea to review the EWG’s Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen Plus.
